Great Bridge Crew Coaches

Head Coach Bryan Stambaugh
has been coaching Great Bridge Crew since its inception 11 years ago. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he rowed 2 years.

Coach Amy Hansen
began rowing 25 years ago in high school in East Lyme, CT and then
continued at Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL. She is a founding
member of Juniper Rowing Club in Great Bridge and is on the board of
Southern Branch Rowing Association.
Amy is a competitive rower in both sweep rowing and sculling.
Her most notable accomplishment were competing in FISA World
Masters 2006 in Camden, NJ where 6200 rowers from 34 countries
competed. Amy competed
in a W2x and Mix2x category and placed 3rd and 6th,
respectively. She also
set the W2x course record at the Rockett’s Landing Sprints in 2007.
Amy earned
her MS in biological oceanography from ODU in 2007. She began
coaching for GBC in 2009 as women’s assistant varsity coach and she
is entering her 17th year teaching as a biology teacher at GBHS.

Coach Matt Moreau is a graduate of Great Bridge High and rowed for Great Bridge from 2001-2005. During his time at GBCrew he was a Regional Champion in 2003, 2004 and 2005; only a canceled race in 2002 kept him from getting his fourth regional title. He placed 5th at the Stotesbury Cup in 2005 with the Men's LW8.
Coach Moreau was a full scholarship rower at Marist College from 2005-2009. He had a very successful college rowing career: Presiden't Cup 2005-2005; undefeated in the MAAC Conference, Cup Champion 2005-2009, and NY State Champion MV4 2008. Coach Moreau graduated from Marist in 2009 with a B.S in Digital Media and a Double Minor in Studio Art, Photography.

Coach Holly Bond ( White Visor) began rowing and coxing 10 years ago for Lake Braddock Secondary School in Northern Virginia. Throughout high school she was also heavily involved with coaching and coxing for Prince William Master's Rowing Club. She continued her love for the sport at Virginia Tech, coxing their Women's Lightweight Eight. While at Virginia Tech she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Exercise. She has since become a US Rowing certified coach and ACE Group Fitness Instructor. Coach Holly is very excited to be joining the Great Bridge Crew Team and is looking forward to a fun and competitive season..
